Before I was a coach, I was an athlete chasing something big. Not for medals. Not for attention. But because it meant something. That pursuit shaped how I coach today—and why I do it differently.
A Letter from the Coach
Hey, I’m Scott.
I’m a coach, a competitor, and someone who still believes in chasing big goals—even when the path isn’t easy or clear.
I didn’t grow up planning to coach. I grew up chasing the Olympic Trials—a tribute to my father, a fallen FBI agent, and the quiet belief he instilled in me from a young age. I ran through cold Salt Lake mornings and long nights not just because I wanted to compete—but because I was driven by something bigger.
I learned that quitting was harder than finishing last, and that sometimes you can do everything right and still come up short. Some days were effortless. Others, not so much. But when desire wavered, discipline stepped in.
One more step. One more mile. Just one more day.
Running gave me structure. It gave me something to hold on to. It was how I kept moving forward—even when the road felt long and uncertain.
What started as a dream rooted in early inspiration turned into something deeper—a test of consistency, focus, and the willingness to show up when it would’ve been easier not to. I didn’t make the Olympic Trials. But I built a life around that pursuit—one shaped by resilience, perspective, and a deep understanding of what it takes to keep going when most people stop.
Today, I coach runners with real goals and real lives—working professionals, parents, comeback athletes, and those simply looking for a smarter, steadier path forward. I build training that fits your life—not the other way around.
This isn’t about perfection.
It’s about staying in it.
On the hard days. The good days. The days you'd rather quit.
That’s where real progress lives.
If you’re looking for a coach who understands the grind—and builds the plan around your life—I’d be honored to be in your corner.
